Anonymous asked: I'm new to staff this year to a camp in alabama. i'm so nervous!
How exciting! Camp is the best experience you can possibly have. Every camp is different but some things to expect are: Team building games, getting to know you games, CPR certification, Maybe if they have a rock wall belay certification, learning how to deal with situations such as abuse, bullying, and homesickness, and water safety. Hopefully they do a lot of camp fires and cook outs!
Anonymous asked: hi. please tell me about staff training.
Hey! I would gladly but who is this?
Being a camp counselor for has been a part of my life for the last four summers. Even before that, as a camper, camp mean’t everything to me. I loved meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and creating a small family that was based upon a simple interest “having fun”. This is the first summer in six years that I will not be at Camp Y-Noah. It’s hard for me to wrap my head around this concept. I love having something to do every minute of the day. I love the endless questions, the hugs, the laughter, the homesickness, and the bed time stories. I never forget a camper. Each one has impacted my life and made me a better person. Camp has taught me so many useful skills that every day life cannot. I’ve become more patient, aware of others feelings, and a good listener. I can solve a child’s issue (usually because they are easier then adults) in record time. I know what to say and I know how to act. I’m going to miss every second I don’t get to have with the children I’ve known for so long. They are all amazing and will grow up to be great people, I wish I could remind them that every day.
Does anyone remember this movie? I’m about to watch it for the first time since I was little. I just remember being really sad that they didn’t want their mommy.
